![]() Weapon breaking with one of your stronger units is a good way to ensure that weaker allies can pitch in for follow up attacks and get more XP from killing blows without worry of being counter-attacked.You'll need to at least deal damage, and have a certain amount of strength and build compared to to the opponent, so look for the red X icon to ensure your weapon will actually break theirs. Effective use of the Weapon Triangle can break an enemy's weapon - but not always.Remember that characters can gain support during battles by fighting next to each or healing them with staves. Any characters that can gain support, but have not yet reached level C with each other will have a blank speech bubble instead. When you select a unit during a battle, all the characters that unit has gained support will have a little speech bubble with their corresponding support level over their head. You can see this by view the Ally Reference in the menu, however, you can also see character's support levels while they're on the battlefield. ![]() Alear can increase their support levels with every character however, only certain characters can increase their support with other characters. Characters who have increased support levels with each other will gain small buffs when fighting adjacent to each other. ![]() Pressing + when controlling a unit will let them quickly engage or disengage without the fanfare (even in the faceoff screen), and pressing - will zoom in for more detailed stats on the unit. Holding ZR will highlight additional info on units, but holding it down will let you quickly choose between info displayed - and the minimap size. Some tooltips are easier to spot than others.You'll start unlocking more side missions later in the game, but these more difficult challenges will allow you to raise the max bond levels of your Emblem Rings, so undertake them when your characters are hitting the max level for that Emblem. Early Paralogue side missions can often let you recruit new characters and should be done sooner rather than later.You don't need to talk to all your allies since you'll get any Bond Fragments you missed - but at least find the ore! You'll start to find more ore in each post-mission exploration when you are able to walk around the battlefield and collect items on the ground. Refining weapons or buying accessories can cost a lot of ore, which aren't easy to gather early on.This is especially useful for increasing the damage output of lighter weapons without making them heavier. Refining weapons is also easily overlooked as it can be expensive, but try to increase the level of at least one weapon per character after getting an influx of military funds.Since it only costs a bit of Bond Fragments to do, be sure to take advantage of increased damage, critical chance, or avoidance by imbuing your best weapons, and swap them as needed, After you get a new Emblem Ring, you can imbue special properties of that Emblem onto one specific weapon.If they are defeated in battle, they retreat instead of dying, appearing in story conversations but will not be available in future battles. ![]() This actually prevents them from being killed in battles, even if you're playing in Classic Mode.
